|J. Robinson Wheeler's L'Artiste et La Modèle|
About This Screenplay
This script is set in France and is written in a curious style: The reader must imagine that the film will ultimately be produced in the French language with French actors, and the dialogue presented here will be the basis for the English subtitles. It is a rather curious affectation, but it seems somehow to suit the story, which is of a young poet/artist's romantic obsession with a beautiful model he wishes to paint. Unfortunately, she has no such feelings for him, although she does consent to pose for him.
In addition to the script excerpt, I'm also including a link to Le Persistance de la Vision, a short story (in IF-transcript format) that continues the story of Henri, the main character of this script. It's a semi-official sequel.
